Newcastle, who have been relegated from the Premier League, have yet to agree on a deal with Rafael Benitez.

It is believed that discussions are still going on with the Magpies board and that Spanish manager and that a decision will have to be taken by the end of the week.

It is believed that the players are all in favor for Rafael Benitez to stay as their manager and that they have made their desires known to the board. However, it will all depend on the kind of agreement that the board and Benitez will make.

Karl Darlow spoke to the media and said that Rafael Benitez has definitely lifted the morale at St James Park since his arrival. He definitely wants the manager to stay at the club and declared that he is the right man for the job. He said that with a manager of this caliber there is high hope that Newcastle will be able to push for promotion to the Premier League.

He said that it was a great boost for them for a manager like Benitez to take charge of the club even when they were entangled in a relegation battle. He said that there was no reason why a manager like him had to come to their rescue and that action has really boosted the morale of the team.

For Darlow, if they manage to keep hold of Rafael Benitez and all their current players, they should be able to manage life in the Championship and should be able to mount a serious promotion push next season. However, he has warned his teammates that life will not be easy in the Championship. He said that playing in the Championship is more about grinding out results than playing well. They should be prepared for a serious mental test if they want to win their promotion.
